Indonesia was once again struck by grief at the end of 2025. Several areas in West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh were hit by heavy rains, resulting in flash floods and severe landslides in several cities within a short time.

According to detik.com, as of December 10, 2025, the Sumatran disasters had claimed 967 lives, 5,000 people were injured, 262 people were missing, and approximately 850,000 people were forced to evacuate due to the dire situation. This data is a combination of data from 52 regencies and cities in West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh that were directly affected.

In response to the sad news, PT AICA Indonesia donated funds to disaster victims in West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh. This aid was distributed through the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, the parent agency for all domestic industrial players. The Ministry of Industry has a special task force in disaster-affected areas to facilitate the distribution and use of aid.

The aid was symbolically handed over by Ms. Lanny Tjahjadi, Vice President of PT AICA Indonesia, and Mr. Kazuhiro Ishida, General Manager of the PT AICA Indonesia Factory, at the Ministry of Industry office in South Jakarta on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

"Our deepest condolences from the President Director of PT AICA Indonesia, Mr. Dan Mashiki. We hope this financial assistance can ease the burden on our brothers and sisters affected by the disasters in West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh."

PT AICA Indonesia also invites and encourages all industrial players in Indonesia to participate in assisting our brothers and sisters in West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh who have been struck by disaster as a form of solidarity and humanity.

All management and employees of PT AICA Indonesia offer their condolences for the disasters that have occurred in West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh. May those affected be given the fortitude and strength to recover and get back on their feet, and may the assistance received ease the burden on our brothers and sisters there.
